When a grown adult is having sex with a child, this is called rape and paedophilia. Using a position of power to obtain sex from a child, is called grooming and exploitation. But with headlines claiming children can "sell sex", The Guardian needs to be educated on such facts.
To "sell" something, is defined as an exchange by agreement but these are children, where adults are using their positions as European citizens, to force hungry, displaced and homeless kids into having sex - with the promise of passage across borders.
Acts of sexual abuse to children, have been witnessed in Iraq by the ISIS terrorist organisation and it is disgraceful that in peaceful European countries, the authorities are allowing the rape of vulnerable minors to occur.

After public pressure, The Guardian have since changed the headline on their story and this is an important clarification, as no child is ever in a position, where he or she is able to consent or sell sexual intercourse, with a grown adult.
Iraq Solidarity News (Al-Thawra) stands shoulder to shoulder with those who are working to protect children's rights and we call for greater support, to those who are working to protect children, from physical and emotional harm.
