Who We Are

WE CAN HELP YOU

Are you involved with an Iraqi or Middle Eastern issue? At Iraq Solidarity News (Al-Thawra), we welcome press releases, announcements for upcoming events and we would also like to invite you to submit your articles for publication. Although we are based in the UK city of Manchester, our vision is global and we would love to hear from you.

FREE YOUR MIND

We are proud to be the only British-Iraqi media group, who has given a long term commitment to the mental wellbeing of victims of war and terrorism. Along with giving much needed publicity to reputable organization's working in Iraq, we are also mindful to the heroic efforts of people working across Europe and the USA.

EDUCATE YOURSELF AND THE FUTURE

According to UNESCO, there are an estimated 750 millions adults who lack basic reading and writing skills. An estimated 496 million of these are women! For us, education is an essential building block to ending war. This is why we are committed to helping end illiteracy by empowering young people and adults through organization's like the Iraqi Children Foundation.

WORLD WIDE EDUCATION

As part of our commitment to adult education, our World Wide Education invites you to broaden your knowledge on a number of universal themes. Through online exhibitions and e-learning, you can develop your understanding of the Middle East region, while exploring a number of other subjects like history and heritage, the Holocaust and the US civil rights movement.

JOIN US AND GET INVOLVED

Have you ever wanted to get involved but are not sure where to start? Check out our guide, which will hopefully navigate you towards an activity that interests you and will help develop your own interest in Iraq, the Middle East and in people of dual-heritage. All activities are fully inclusive and are all disability friendly.

HELP US GET JUSTICE

Out of an estimated 40.000 foreign fighters, a known 850 British people joined ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Affiliation to ISIS was only made illegal in the United Kingdom, in the Summer of 2014. Out of all British people who joined Islamic State, not one has faced justice for the crimes committed against the Iraqi or Syrian people. Please contact your MP and demand that justice be carried out!
