Have you heard the story of An American Mosque?

Watching the 2013 documentary 'An American Mosque', you could easily feel the presence of John Steinbeck quietly whispering; “I got you to look after me and you got me to look after you.”

With land donated, California's farm laborer's built their first Mosque but when the Islamic Center of Yuba City was burned to the ground in 1994, it was a turning point which brought an entire community together.

The Southern Poverty Law Center describes 'An American Mosque' as "a valuable look through the eyes of one community of people who join together to overcome hate.

This film beautifully demonstrates the story of triumph, hope and activism that followed a painful act of religious intolerance. A valuable resource for reducing prejudice and improving intergroup relations.”
