A family of refugees have been reunited with their beloved cat after the they were split up from the pet while fleeing from Iraq.
The tearful reunion was filmed four months after a mother and her five children were separated from their cat Kunkush at the Greek island of Lesbos.
Kunkush ran away from the refugee camp and the family had to leave as they trekked to their final destination of Norway.
A few days later the cat was spotted in a nearby village and the extraordinary efforts to get Kunkush back to its owners began.
Vet Amy Shrodes and Ashley Anderson started a social media campaign to find the family who had brought the cat all the way from the ISIL-held district of Mosul.
"I felt strongly that if this family took such a huge effort to bring him with them, they must consider him a part of their family," Ms Shrodes said.
Thanks to donations, Ms Shrodes was able to take Kunkush to Berlin to search for the family.
Eventually they were tracked down and there was not a dry eye in the house when Kunkush was finally back in its owner's arms.
