Iraqi supperclub fundraiser: JUMA Kitchen & AMAR Foundation

JUMA Kitchen and AMAR Foundation have teamed up to host a special evening filled with fabulous, authentic, Iraqi cuisine, whilst raising awareness of the AMAR Foundation; a UK charity that builds and improves lives in the Middle East.

AMAR has been working in the Middle East since 1991, providing professional health and education services to those whose lives have been turned upside down by conflict and instability.

Since June 2014, AMAR teams have been working around the clock to help more than three million internally displaced persons (IDPs), forced from their homes by Islamic State (IS) violence.

Employing local people and using local resources wherever possible, AMAR today builds, equips and runs purpose-built health clinics for IDPs.

The charity’s current appeal – which is in collaboration with Channel 4 Dispatches Director, Edward Watts – is working to develop the mental health care infrastructure in Northern Iraq to ensure those affected by IS brutality receive the trauma therapy they so urgently need.
