Iraq builds centres to aid terror victims

Iraq has begun construction work on special centres for rehabilitating terror victims, the Iraqi government said Friday (May 24th).

Deputy Prime Minister Saleh al-Mutlaq said the centres will care for victims who have suffered both physical and psychological trauma due to terrorist attacks.

These centres will include specialised medical teams and advanced medical equipment, he said. In the first phase of the project, three centres will be constructed in Baghdad, Najaf and Basra, with further centres planned across the country.

The first three centres are hoped to be completed within a year and are slated to cost around 900 million Iraqi dinars ($783,000).
