A north-east doctor found guilty of failing to report British soldiers’ torture of prisoners in Iraq was struck off the medical register yesterday.

Former Aberdeen University student Dr Derek Keilloh denied being part of a cover-up over the notorious death of detainee Baha Mousa, who suffered multiple injuries at the hands of troops who wrongly suspected he was an insurgent.

The 26-year-old died during the Iraq conflict in 2003 after suffering 93 injuries during a beating by soldiers from the 1st Battalion Queen’s Lancashire Regiment.
