LONDON FILM SHOWING: NOWHERE TO HIDE

As American and Coalition troops retreated from Iraq in 2011, male nurse Nori Sharif was given a camera by director Zaradasht Ahmed.

Nori’s extraordinary documenting of his country over the following five years takes us right to the heart of life in central Iraq, during a period of extreme upheaval and trauma, as his patients, colleagues and neighbours are forced to flee.

When ISIS advances on his city, Jalawla, in 2014, Nori continues to film, but as the situation becomes more desperate he must turn the camera on himself, and choose between staying to care for his patients, or leaving to save his family.

Nowhere to Hide will screen daily from Friday 21 April at the The Bertha DocHouse Screen, Curzon Bloomsbury, The Brunswick, London, WC1N 1AW.
