It was a pleasure to join Sile Martin on Radio Offbeat - on ALLFM - and talk about the AMAR International Charitable Foundation and the Iraqi Children Foundation (ICF).
Both AMAR and the ICF do incredible work with vulnerable communities across Iraq and it’s great that we can connect these experiences with people here in Manchester.
Just this Summer, AMAR launched an incredible album of Yazidi music and by making it available online, it’s allowed the international community to get a real insight into Yazidi culture for the first time in history.
The ICF also hold the ‘In Their Shoes 5K’ run, which unites people around the world with kids in Iraq. All proceeds from this go towards their mobile 'Hope Bus’ schools, which are located in neighborhoods in Baghdad.
It was great talking to Sile about the work of both organisations and discuss the incredible efforts being made to rebuild people’s lives, ten years after the 2014 ISIS Genocide.
