“SOS Lebanon” launched in the UK

The pontifical charity Aid to the Church in Need has launched the extraordinary campaign “SOS Lebanon”, to assist communities affected by the escalation of war in the country.

Support includes, food and hygiene products to 1,500 families in the Diocese of Tyre and 983 families in the Diocese of Sidon. Assistance is also reaching Beirut, where Aid to the Church in Need is supporting 700 families.

Aid to the Church in Need is also providing support to those who have ‘chosen’ to remain in area’s impacted by the conflict, most of whom share the common 'fear of losing their homes and land forever’.

Aid to the Church in Need has 200 projects throughout Lebanon. These are now being directed towards giving emergency support; providing shelter, food, medical aid and sanitary items to those who need it.
