Over £8,966 has been raised for Iraqi orphans, to honour the memory of 'gentle giant' Dr Abdul-Razaq Abdullah. His friends and family are hoping to reach their goal of £10.000.
Dr Abdul-Razaq Abdullah, a GP at Rainham Health Centre in Havering, died at the Queen’s Hospital on the 8th December. Dr Abdullah is one of 16 GPs to have died in Britain from COVID-19, since the start of the pandemic.
Dr Abdul-Razaq Abdullah moved to the UK from Iraq 36 years ago and worked in Havering for the majority of his career. Colleagues have described him as a ‘selfless and compassionate’ man.
His daughter, Dr Ayat Abdullah, herself a newly-qualified GP said her father: ‘wanted to serve the NHS and be there for patients and work through this Covid crisis. He felt obligated to help others – his patients were really attached to him, and he was really attached to his patients.'
