Manchester Children's Hospital is appealing for food and toiletries for NHS staff

The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is appealing for donations of food, drink and toiletries for staff working around the clock amid the coronavirus outbreak. The hospital’s charity has a long list of essentials needed to support its workforce, and is appealing for businesses to help out.

Requested donations include tea, coffee, snacks, toiletries, and pyjamas for staff who may have to sleep at the hospital. The supplies will support those working in the children’s hospital, as well as the MRI, Wythenshawe Hospital and Trafford General.

A statement posted on the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital charity website said: “We are calling on businesses across our region to donate specific items to support the wellbeing of our committed NHS workforce during these unprecedented times.

“Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. “Our Trust is one of the largest in the country, with more than 20,000 staff working across nine hospitals and community services across the City of Manchester and Trafford. “We are all working together to make sure our extended hospital family can continue to care for yours.”

Businesses or individuals can donate here. Please contact the Charity on 0161 276 4522 or charity.office@mft.nhs.uk if you can supply any of the items required. To enable the Charity to accept all deliveries safely, in line with current social distancing and infection control protocols, it is imperative that you contact the charity team before delivering items.
