AMAR hit the airwaves in Manchester, to rebuild lives in Iraq

On 6/9/2018, Hussein Al-alak went on to the ALL FM 96.9 radio station in Manchester, where he spoke extensively about the life saving work of the AMAR Foundation inside of Iraq. 

During the interview, Hussein highlighted how the famous Iraqi marsh lands played a central role to the founding of AMAR - 25 years ago - and how today in 2018, Iraq's marshes are now a World Heritage Site. 

Other points discussed, included AMAR providing specialist mental health care to 35.000 Iraqi-Yazidi's and how since 2005, over 5 million people have benefited from AMAR's internationally acclaimed health care services. 

Hussein also informed listeners, how the AMAR Foundation have provided support to over 7.000 people through their INVEST Centre's - to start up small businesses - and have given skills based training to over 167.000 Iraqi people. 

It was also illustrated, how AMAR's chairperson and founder, Baroness Emma Nicholson, has close ties to Manchester, a city of over 18.000 Iraqi's. From 1923-1940, David Lindsay, the 27th Earl of Crawford and grandfather of Baroness Nicholson, was chancellor at the University of Manchester. 

Listeners were informed about current work in the UK northern city of Manchester, for the AMAR Foundation's work in Iraq. Audiences were also invited to show their support for AMAR in 2019, by taking part on the Manchester 10K and Run Media City.
