Safeguarding Against Forced Marriage: Workshop

A half-day workshop which aims to provide participants with information about forced marriage as well as offering ideas for activities to raise awareness of forced marriage with professionals, service users and community members. 

The intention of the training is for the participants to be able to go back to their networks and community and use the film and the activities they’ll participate in to create a space to talk about forced marriage, dispel some of the commons myths and to highlight sources of support for victims. 

Learning objectives: 
• Understand the difference between forced marriage and arranged marriage 
• Learn why forced marriage is harmful 
• Understand why forced marriage happens 
• Learn what they can do to help 

Who should attend? 
Those working with individuals at risk of forced marriage, community or faith leaders and workers.
