In just a few days, over £6.000 has been raised for the AMAR Foundation, who are on the ground in Romania and the Ukraine, where they are assisting disabled children fleeing conflict.
Concerns about the plight of disabled people in the Ukraine have also been raised by the European Disability Forum, especially for adults living in institutions and disabled children in orphanages.
War can have a devastating effect on children’s mental and physical health, with potentially life-long consequences. That is why children must be protected from harm during conflict situations and never be targeted.
For over 30 years, the AMAR Foundation's efforts in rebuilding lives have crossed many borders. This includes work in Iraq, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Romania.
