Due to the long-term impact ISIS has had on Iraq’s economy, many parents are unable to afford a higher education for their children, especially because most of them are internally displaced. 

The Catholic University in Erbil (CUE) is a flagship project with multifaceted goals, for keeping religious minorities in Iraq and increasing the role of education in social cohesion and reconciliation. 

It is one central point at the Catholic University in Erbil, for religious minorities to study and learn together in safety and without prejudice. At CUE, Iraqi youth of different faiths learn alongside each other as they recover from the ISIS genocide. 

Aid to the Church in Need wants to fund student scholarships for the upcoming 4 years: this will not only benefit young people who hope for a better future, it will also send a strong message of solidarity to all Iraqi young people.
