Locals came together to share the festive spirit at the unveiling of the Christmas tree on Tuesday. "Our objective is delivering a message to the whole world, that Santa's message is a message of peace and a gift of love." The above picture by Zaid Al-Obeidi captures the moment when people gathered by the Christmas tree, in the Iraqi town of Qaraqosh, in Nineveh province, some 30 kilometer's from Mosul. Taken on December 7th, Zaid captured the warmth and hope of the festive season in Iraq.
