A turning point for Iraqi children

Despite 2020 being a tough year for everyone, the Iraqi Children Foundation had their biggest year of fundraising to date, with people coming forward to help disadvantaged children across Iraq.

An outstanding point in the ICF's latest report, is they have been granted approval to refurbish a school in Sinjar, which will reopen this year! The school has remained abandoned since the ISIS occupation and will be used to educate over 400 Yazidi children.

According to the Iraqi Children Foundation, more than 800,000 kids were orphaned as a result of the Iraq War, with the ISIS occupation displacing a further 1.3 million children. Also, one in five Iraqi children are working to support their families or themselves.
