The Institute for War and Peace Reporting in Iraq has trained 60 journalists, activists and NGO workers in essential social media and cyber security skills in a series of Baghdad workshops.
Online activism can be very useful in combatting extremist thought, and participants were shown how to best promote peace and co-existence through solid, credible multimedia content.
Digital security training also gave them the skills necessary to ensure online accounts, data and devices were protected from potential threats.
