We would like to give a massive congratulations to artist Yuhana Ali Nashmi and to Australia’s Iraq-Mandaean community, for giving a superb public launch on the 18/8/2016 to the exhibition Mandaic Calligraphy and Painting: Inner Light Through an Ancient Alphabet.
Mandaic calligraphy is a unique style of art inspired by the ancient alphabet and comes from an eastern dialect of Aramaic, the language of Jesus Christ, which is still found spoken in Churches across Iraq. Hosted by Liverpool City Library in Australia, this remarkable Australian city boasts the largest number Mandaeans living outside of Iraq.
