Child protection in times of conflict. How does this work?

How do you protect children and young people from human trafficking? One approach is applied by the Iraqi Children Foundation, whose teams hold critical awareness sessions for young people at risk. Human trafficking is a real concern in Iraq and ICF teams are working hard to put an end to this practice. 

As Mohammed Khudairi. then chairman of Iraqi Children Foundation explained to Hussein Al-alak in 2019; the Iraqi Children Foundation intervenes in the lives of orphans and street children who are vulnerable to abuse, neglect, and exploitation by criminals, traffickers and extremists. 

The organization was set up in the late 2000′s by Americans who saw the need to help rebuild Iraq after so many years of conflict. More than 800,000 children were orphaned as a result of the Iraq War, and the ISIS occupation displaced another 1.3 million.
