A featherweight bout between Alan Omer (18-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Mike Wilkinson (9-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night 69 in Germany.
UFC Fight Night 69 takes place June 20 at O2 World Berlin in Germany’s capital city.
The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass.
A light-heavyweight bout between recent title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira headlines.
Omer, a 26-year-old Iraqi who fights out of Germany, had won four straight fights and went 9-1 over a 10-fight stretch to earn a UFC contract in early 2014.
However, in his promotional debut, he suffered a hotly contested split-decision loss to former Cage Warriors champ Jim Alers at UFC Fight Night 39. Omer, who returns from a yearlong-plus layoff, looks to get back in the form that saw him post 16 stoppages in 18 career wins.
He now meets Wilkinson, a 27-year-old English fighter who reached the semifinal round on “The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes” but was injured and bounced from the competition. He returned and defeated Brendan Loughnane on the undercard of the live finale before a submission loss to Rony Mariano Bezerra in his second UFC fight.
However, he rebounded in October and scored a 79-second knockout win over Niklas Backstrom at UFC Fight Night 53.
